Privacy Policy
What we collect when you use our laundry service, why we collect it, and what we do with it — in plain language, without the boilerplate.

Who We Are
Elegant Life Laundry is a laundry and dry cleaning business based at Building 4107, 14 Wadi Al Mikhaylfah St, Mohamed Bin Zayed City, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. We provide washing, ironing, dry cleaning, and specialist garment care, with free collection and delivery across Abu Dhabi.
This policy covers the personal information we handle when you book with us, when we collect and return your items, and when you use this website. We are responsible for that information and for the decisions about how it is used.
Information We Collect
We collect only what we need in order to clean your items and return them to you. In practice, that falls into three groups.
Information you give us
- Your name, so we know whose order it is and can label it correctly.
- Your phone number, so we can contact you about collection, delivery, and anything unexpected we find.
- Your collection and delivery address, including any building, villa, or flat details you give us so our driver can find you.
- Your email address, if you choose to contact us that way or ask for a statement by email.
- Instructions about your garments — for example that an item is delicate, that a stain needs attention, that a fabric must be washed separately, or that a household member has sensitive skin and needs a particular detergent.
Information created when we serve you
- Your customer number — a unique reference we create to identify your account, so we can find your details without asking you to repeat them.
- Your order history — the items in each order, the services applied, dates, and the status of the order as it moves through our shop.
- Invoices and payment status, including what is outstanding on a monthly account. Each order produces an itemised electronic invoice, which we send to you and keep on your account.
- Notes made by our staff, such as a pre-existing mark or a weakness in a fabric that we noticed before cleaning.
- Photographs of items, occasionally, where a garment arrives with existing damage or a stain we want to record before we begin. We take these to protect you as much as ourselves.
Information from this website
Very little. This website has no contact form, no customer account, no login, and no online payment. It does not ask you to submit anything. Every piece of information described above reaches us because you gave it to us directly — on WhatsApp, on the phone, or at the shop counter.
Like any website, ours is served over the internet, and our hosting provider processes standard technical request data such as IP addresses in the ordinary course of delivering the page to you and keeping the service secure. We do not use that data to build a profile of you, and we do not combine it with your customer record.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information for these purposes and no others:
- To provide the service you asked for — collecting, cleaning, finishing, and delivering your items.
- To communicate with you about your order — confirming a pickup window, telling you your order is ready, letting you know if something needs longer or cannot be treated safely.
- To take payment and keep accurate accounts, including running monthly accounts for regular customers and issuing invoices and statements.
- To honour your garment care instructions across future orders, so you do not have to repeat yourself every time.
- To resolve problems — if you tell us something is wrong, we need your order record to investigate it properly.
- To meet our legal and record-keeping obligations in the UAE.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We do not send promotional messages unless you have asked us to, and if we ever do, you can tell us to stop and we will stop.
WhatsApp Communications
WhatsApp is our main way of speaking with customers. Most bookings, updates, and questions happen there.
When you message us on WhatsApp, we receive your phone number, your WhatsApp profile name, and the content of your messages, including any photographs of garments you choose to send. We keep those messages for as long as we need them to serve you and to resolve any question about an order.
WhatsApp is operated by a third party, not by us. Your messages are also handled by WhatsApp under its own terms and privacy policy, which we do not control and are not responsible for. Please review those if they matter to you.
Please do not send card numbers, bank details, passwords, or copies of identity documents over WhatsApp. We will never ask you for them there. If you send us something like that unprompted, we will ask you to delete it.
Phone Calls and Email
When you call us, we see your phone number and we may add a short note to your order record about what we discussed — for example that you asked us to come an hour later. We do not record calls.
When you email us at info@elegantlifelaundry.com, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it to answer you and, if it relates to an order, we keep it with that order's record. Email is not a secure medium; please do not send payment or identity details by email either.
Order Information
Every order creates a record: who it belongs to, what was in it, what we did to it, when it was collected and returned, what it cost, and whether it has been paid. We also record any care instruction you have given us and any note our staff made about the condition of an item when it arrived.
We keep your order history because it makes the service better. It means we already know that your abaya is beaded, that a particular shirt is not to be pressed hot, or that your household needs a fragrance-free detergent. It also means that if there is ever a dispute about an item, there is a record we can both look at rather than two memories that disagree.
If you would prefer us not to retain your order history between visits, tell us and we will accommodate that where our record-keeping obligations allow.
Delivery Addresses
We collect your address for one reason: our driver has to find you and bring your clothes back. We use it to plan collection and delivery routes and to estimate distance from our shop.
If you share a map location or pin with us, we use the coordinates to locate your door accurately. We store the address you give us against your customer record so you do not have to re-send it with every order. You can ask us to change it or remove it at any time.
Your address is visible to the staff who schedule the run and to the driver performing it. It is not shared with anyone else, and it is not used for anything other than collecting from and delivering to you.
Payment Information
We do not take payments through this website, and we do not store your card details. There is no online checkout here.
You can pay us in any of these ways:
- Cash — on collection, on delivery, or at the shop. No card data is involved.
- Card on delivery — through a card terminal provided by our bank or payment provider. Your card details go directly to that provider and its acquiring bank. We never see or hold your full card number, and we could not store it even if we wanted to.
- Apple Pay— handled by Apple and by our payment provider. The card number is never shared with us; we receive only confirmation that the payment succeeded. Apple's own privacy policy governs what Apple does with the transaction on your device.
- A payment linkthat we send you. The payment is processed on the provider's own secure page, under the provider's privacy terms, and we receive only confirmation that it succeeded.
- Bank transfer — your bank shares with us only what appears on the transfer, such as your name and reference.
What we do keep is the accounting record: the amount, the date, the method used, and whether the invoice is settled. That is what allows us to run monthly accounts and to meet our record-keeping obligations. Third-party payment providers are independently responsible for the data they process, and we recommend reviewing their terms if you pay by card or payment link.
Cookies and Analytics
This website does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics. There is no Google Analytics on this site, no advertising pixel, and no cross-site tracker. That is why you have not been shown a cookie consent banner — we do not set anything that would require one.
Two things on the page are worth naming honestly, because they involve third parties:
- The embedded mapin our service area section is served by Google Maps. When it loads, your browser contacts Google directly, and Google may set its own cookies and receive technical data such as your IP address, under Google's privacy policy. We do not receive that data and we do not control it.
- The WhatsApp, call, directions, and Instagram buttons are ordinary links. Nothing happens until you click one, and when you do, you are handed over to that service, which then applies its own terms and privacy policy.
If we ever add analytics or any other tracking to this site, we will update this section before we do, and we will implement whatever consent mechanism is then required.
Who We Share Information With
Your information stays within our business, and is seen only by staff whose job requires it. There are three exceptions worth naming plainly:
- Our specialist cleaning partner. Some dry cleaning is handled by a specialist partner. They receive the garment and the order reference. They do not receive your address, your phone number, or your account history.
- Our systems and hosting providers. Our order records are held in a secured database operated by a third-party provider on our behalf. They process that data under our instructions, for the sole purpose of running our system, and for no purpose of their own.
- Payment providers, as described above, where you pay by card or payment link.
We may also disclose information where we are required to by applicable UAE law, by a court, or by a competent authority acting within its powers. If that happens, we will disclose only what is actually required.
Where Your Information Is Stored
Our order records are stored electronically with a third-party cloud provider engaged by us. Depending on that provider's infrastructure, the servers holding your information may be located outside the United Arab Emirates.
Where information is transferred or stored outside the UAE, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected to a standard consistent with this policy and with applicable UAE data protection law, including requiring our providers to keep it secure, to process it only on our instructions, and not to use it for their own purposes.

Data Security
Our records are held in an access-controlled system. Access is limited to staff who need it to do their job, each member of staff has their own credentials, and administrative functions are restricted further still. Paper tickets in the shop are kept behind the counter and are not left where customers or passers-by can read them.
We take this seriously and we do not treat your details casually. But we will not tell you that any system is perfect, because none is. If we ever become aware of a security incident that affects your personal information and presents a risk to you, we will act to contain it, and we will notify you and the relevant authority where the law requires it.
How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep your customer and order records for as long as you are a customer, and afterwards for as long as we need them to settle accounts, resolve any question about past work, and meet our legal and record-keeping obligations in the UAE. Financial records are kept for the period UAE law requires.
Photographs taken of an item's condition are kept with that order and deleted once the order is complete and settled, unless there is an open question about the item that they are needed to resolve.
When we no longer need your information, we delete it or otherwise put it beyond use.
Your Rights
Subject to applicable UAE law, and in particular Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data, you have the right to:
- Ask what we hold about you, and receive a copy of it.
- Have it corrected if it is wrong, incomplete, or out of date.
- Have it deleted, where we are not required to keep it for legal or accounting reasons.
- Object to or restrict how we use it in certain circumstances.
- Ask us to stop contacting you for anything other than your active orders.
- Withdraw your consent, where we rely on consent, at any time. That will not affect anything done before you withdrew it.
- Complain to the relevant UAE authority if you believe we have mishandled your information — though we would much rather you came to us first, and we would take it seriously.
To exercise any of these, just contact us. There is no form to fill in and no charge. We may need to confirm your identity first, so that we do not hand your information to someone else. We will respond within the period required by applicable law, and in practice as quickly as we reasonably can.
Children's Information
Our service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information about children. We may hold a child's garment care note — for example that a school uniform belongs to a child with sensitive skin — where a parent or guardian has given it to us as part of a household order. If you believe we hold information about a child that we should not, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to This Policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the “last updated” date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell our customers about it directly rather than relying on you to notice.

Applicable Law
This policy and our handling of your personal information are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, including Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data and any implementing regulations and guidance issued under it, together with any other applicable federal or Emirate-level requirements.
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any right you have under applicable UAE law.
